‘Eyes on the Ground’ for Office-Based Lot Management – Driving Delivery Across Sites
€52,500–€62,000 per year – depending on experience, capability and responsibility levels
As Senior Grabungsleiter*in / Senior Site Manager, you will play a pivotal operational role across multiple archaeological sites within a designated Lot. Supporting the Lot Manager, you’ll coordinate day-to-day operations, ensuring health & safety, programme milestones, resource use, site logistics, and documentation standards are consistently compliant.
You’ll work closely with site leadership teams, troubleshoot emerging issues, and act as the link between field teams and office-based leadership.

You bring:

• Proven experience leading complex or multi-site archaeological excavations
• Strong skills in H&S, field logistics, team supervision, and programme control
• Ability to mentor field teams and uphold quality standards in fast-paced environments
• Competence in German - B1 or higher, an advantage
• Familiarity with regional heritage guidelines and recording standards
