Post-Excavation Manager / Coordinator

Overseeing finds processing, data management and reporting across federal state(s) €60,000–€75,000 per year - depending on experience, capability and responsibility levels You’ll lead the coordination of post-excavation processes across multiple excavation areas, ensuring that finds, records, samples, and reports are accurately processed, analysed, and archived in line with state and federal requirements. Working closely with Site Directors, documentation teams, and heritage authorities, you’ll develop workflows, support QA/QC procedures, and help ensure timely delivery of interim and final reports. You bring:

• Experience managing post-excavation workflows and deliverables on large projects
• Strong understanding of finds processing, stratigraphic data, and archiving standards
• Familiarity with GIS, digital recording, and database coordination
• Ability to liaise with Landesämter and adapt to varied federal documentation expectations
• Good German skills - B1 or higher, an advantage - and excellent organisational ability
