Irish Ambassador and Consul General Visit INFRA Europe Headquarters in Würzburg
1/6/2026
INFRA Europe was delighted to welcome Ambassador Maeve Collins and Consul General James C. O’Shea to our European headquarters in Würzburg, Bavaria.
The visit provided an opportunity to introduce the work of INFRA Europe and Rubicon Archaeology Group in Germany, including our role in supporting major infrastructure development through archaeological and heritage services. Based in Würzburg, our European headquarters acts as a key operational base for our work across Germany, supporting project delivery, field teams, logistics, and specialist archaeological services.
During the visit, Ambassador Collins and Consul General O’Shea met with members of the team and discussed the important role archaeology plays in enabling sustainable development. Conversations focused on how archaeological expertise can help major infrastructure schemes progress efficiently, while ensuring full compliance with German heritage legislation and planning requirements.
The visit also included time on site, where the delegation had the opportunity to see first-hand how our teams support infrastructure projects through practical, responsive, and legally compliant archaeological work.
INFRA Europe is proud to contribute to the delivery of major infrastructure across Germany, combining international expertise with a strong understanding of local heritage frameworks. We are grateful to Ambassador Collins and Consul General O’Shea for taking the time to visit our offices and engage with the work being carried out by our team.
